From the longitudinal QI project to workshops on negotiating, the hospitalist track provides invaluable resources and opportunities. I’m a more well-rounded resident and future job applicant than I would have been without it. Applying for the track was one of the best decisions I made in residency.

Tiffani Houston, MD, PhD, Class of 2024

As a resident in the hospitalist tract, I have the opportunity to work with leaders in Hospital Medicine that have made big impacts in Hospital Medicine at home and in national circles. What I appreciate is the protected time to identify system gaps and develop improvement plans that will benefit our patients. I’m learning the art of collaborative patient care that revolves around evidence based medicine and safety, while functioning in complex hospital systems.

Maya Khandker, MD, Class of 2022

As a participant in the Hospitalist Track, I’ve had an opportunity to gain knowledge that is invaluable for my career. There are electives which are prioritized for me, such as Ultrasound and Healthcare Administration. I also learn directly from seasoned hospitalists in a didactic curriculum tailored for residents in this track. I have no doubt that the training I’ve been getting at this program is preparing me to be an excellent physician, but with this pathway I feel like I have a leg up to understanding what it takes to be a great hospitalist.
