Dr. Lasso-Claudio joined the UM/JMH Med-Peds Program as Chief Resident after completing his Internal Medicine-Pediatrics residency training at Albany Medical Center. Originally from Puerto Rico, he earned his medical degree from Ponce Health Sciences University School of Medicine. His professional interests include medical education, resident mentorship, global health, health equity, and reducing health disparities among underserved populations. Throughout his training, he has been committed to fostering supportive learning environments and advancing patient-centered care. His dedication to humanistic medicine and trainee development has been recognized through the Gold Humanism Honor Society and mentorship awards.
Clinically, Dr. Lasso-Claudio enjoys caring for patients across the lifespan and values the unique perspective of Med-Peds physicians. His career interests include gastroenterology, hepatology, nutrition, and medical education. He is honored to work alongside the residents, faculty, and staff of the UM/JMH Med-Peds family and looks forward to supporting the next generation of physician leaders.
