Hamid is from Sierre Leone and Lawrenceville, Georgia. As a medical student, he has excelled as an educator, advocate, and a scholar. He volunteered at the free clinic, was Co-President of the White Coat for Black Lives, served as Co-Chair of the JEDI and Racial Equity Committee in the Wisconsin Medical Society-Medical Student Section and served on student government. He was in the Clinician Educator Scholarly Concentration and was active as a peer educator in medical school. His research focused on the social determinant of health effect on PICU Admissions and COVID-19 outcomes. For his work, he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. He has an interest in global health, combined internal medicine and pediatrics, academic medicine, and medical education. He enjoys soccer and cooking, and learning French. We are excited to have Hamid join us in Miami and see how his passions will grow over the next 4 years.
